FAQ

How much does an EV battery health check cost?

The MOT preview is free. The full report, with battery health, real-world range, battery warranty, finance and stolen checks, costs £9.99 per car.

Is this a physical battery test?

No. It is a data-based estimate using real-world range data for the model, adjusted for this car's age and mileage. If the car has had a ClearWatt battery test, the grade and result are shown too.

Which cars are covered?

Most fully electric cars sold in the UK. Plug-in hybrids and very new or rare models may not have a range estimate; if we cannot produce one, you get a full refund.

Why do you ask for the mileage?

Battery ageing depends on mileage as well as age. We pre-fill the last MOT mileage, but the current odometer reading gives a more accurate estimate.

Do I need an account?

No. Pay as a guest and your report opens straight away. We email you the private link.

Can I get a refund?

If we cannot produce the battery and range part of the report you are refunded automatically in full.

Where the data comes from

Battery warranty in the UK

Most manufacturers warrant the battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles to around 70% capacity. The report shows how much of that warranty the car has left, based on its age and mileage.
